Dr. Jay C. Larson brings over a decade of experience, advanced surgical training, and a patient-first approach to Sole Foot & Ankle Specialists. Board-certified and a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, he’s known for explaining complex issues in simple terms and providing personalized care tailored to each patient’s needs.

Originally from Utah, Dr. Larson earned his bachelor’s degree in Public Health Education from Utah State University. He worked as a Health Education Specialist and Anesthesia Technician, experiences that shaped his passion for educating and empowering patients toward better long-term outcomes.

He completed his doctorate degree at Midwestern University in Arizona and a three-year surgical residency in Michigan, where he was elected Chief Resident.

Outside the office, Dr. Larson enjoys mountain biking, photography, and spending time with his wife, three children and cats. His compassionate, down-to-earth care has earned the trust of families across the Valley.

Dr. Jacob H. Nelson

Dr. Jacob Nelson is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He brings a patient-first, solution-focused approach to Sole Foot & Ankle Specialists, emphasizing conservative care while offering advanced surgical options when needed.

An Arizona native, Dr. Nelson completed his medical training at Midwestern University and surgical residency at Tucson Medical Center, where he gained extensive experience in reconstructive surgery, trauma, and sports medicine.

Fluent in Spanish and known for his down-to-earth style, Dr. Nelson connects easily with patients of all ages. Outside the office, he enjoys life with his wife and three kids, often working on DIY projects or building epic blanket forts with the family.

Dr. Dustin Doyle

Board-Certified Podiatrist | Foot & Ankle Surgeon

Dr. Doyle is passionate about helping patients make informed treatment decisions, favoring conservative care when possible while offering surgical expertise when needed. Originally from St. Louis, he earned his doctorate from Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ, and completed his surgical residency as Chief Resident at St. Vincent Hospital/UMASS in Massachusetts.

Board-certified by the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, Dr. Doyle now calls Phoenix home, where he enjoys ultimate Frisbee, mountain biking, and time with his wife, daughter, and their two dogs.

Dr. Jonathan Ray

Board-Certified Podiatrist | Foot & Ankle Surgeon

Dr. Ray is a board-certified podiatric surgeon at Sole Foot & Ankle Specialists in Glendale, AZ. He specializes in sports medicine, trauma, arthritis, wound care, and deformity correction, including bunions, flat feet, and coalitions. With advanced training in diabetic foot care and limb salvage, he is committed to helping patients avoid amputation and improve their quality of life.

He earned his doctorate from Scholl College in Illinois and completed his surgical residency in Salt Lake City, with a focus on reconstruction, trauma, and wound care. Outside of work, Dr. Ray enjoys adventure sports and spending time with his wife and four children. He is also fluent in Malay.
